The Parrot Nest: An excellent  choice for unique lodging just 10 minutes out of San Ignacio. The Parrot Nest is right
on the Mopan River and features treehouses, tropical gardens, free river tubing and incredible home-cooked meals.
At "The Nest" you will also find abundant wildlife and excellent company in the form of Marcus and Theo. Rooms
priced from $40US.

Mountain Equestrian Trails: Located in the Cayo District of western Belize this is the premier equestrian resort in the
country. MET is surrounded by miles of trails on the property as well as being located in the foothills of the beautiful
Maya Mountains and Mountain Pine Ridge. The Beavis family, headed by world renowned adventurer Jim Beavis,
has operated this excellent resort for over 20 years and are on premise to personally attend to their guests.  
Vacation prices vary with excellent package deals available year-round.

La Ruta Maya Belize River Challenge: Belize's annual 170 mile, 4 day marathon canoe race. Lots of great info here
including a 10 day all inclusive package in Belize. You show up at the airport and are taken care of including food,
lodging, canoes, gear, RUM,  transportation in Belize, 2 days and 3 nights on the beach, Mayan ruins tour and much,
much more. A great site worth a look!

Seakunga: Located in Placencia, Seakunga offers very cool beach-side lodging with affordable cabanas, a dorm
style cabana for backpackers, camping, rental tents, excellent Indian food, island hopping and kayak & adventure
tours all over Belize.  Cabanas range from $60US a night and camping as little as $15US a night. We call Seakunga,
"Barton Creek Outpost on the beach".

Kin Winik Tours. In San Ignacio, operated by John Chuc,a native of Belize and fluent in English, Spanish, Creole and
his Yucateck Maya language. John has 20 year's experience as a tour guide and being independent allows him to
create custom experiences for his clients based on what they are looking for.  His tours will not only introduce you to
the sites of Belize, you will also get an in-depth insight into the ecological aspects along the way.  From ruins, birding,
caves to river tubing, John has years of experience in the field and will take the time to make sure you have the most
pleasant, safe and educational experience possible.

Mr. Greedy's Pizzeria: Certainly the best pizza in the Cayo district and some of the best food overall in San
Ignacio. Daily happy hour from 3-6 features $1.00US rum & cokes. You will easily find Greedy's on Burns Ave in
downtown San Ignacio.

Flayva's Restaurant: San Ignacio's hub of the local art scene and a great spot for tourist info.  Caye Caulker
Rasta man Mark owns this great spot and always has sweet sounding local tunes on the stereo and offers cold draft
Belikin all the time. You can grab a bite to eat at a reasonable price, get online and even watch a little TV if you like.  
Right upstairs you will find reasonably priced rooms as well.

Pacz Tours: Located in San Ignacio, Pacz Tours has excellent guides, well maintained vehicles and runs the best
tours in western Belize. The company is locally owned & daily operations are handled by ex-British commando and
local legend Bob Jones, owner of Eva's Restaurant. You cannot go wrong with Pacz Tours.

Belize Shuttle: Operated out of San Ignacio, William offers transportation all over Belize specializing in transfers
to and from the San Ignacio area in the comfort and safety of well maintained vehicles.  Contact the Belize Shuttle at

Artisan Woodworks Belize: Located in San Ignacio, Artisan produces beautiful mahogany and exotic hardwood
furniture, custom kitchens and more. They have an amazing line of hardwood patio furniture that is ready to ship
nearly instantly. Check out their website!


Computer Excel: While there are a few places in San Ignacio that offer free wifi if you buy something there is
nowhere is the area that has chilly air conditioning, a variety of computer related products and services, desktop
stations as well as laptop options at the low, low price of $1.50US and hour.  Did I mention the chilly air conditioning?
Look in the Old Mall for Computer Excel, in the same building as the Tia Maria Hotel.

Pedro's Inn Backpacker Hostel: Located in beautiful Ambergis Caye, Pedro's offers the most inexpensive
accommodation in San Pedro at $10 a night per person. Perdro's Inn is designed for people who prefer to spend
their money on important things like partying, scuba diving, sunbathing, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, swimming,
snorkeling, drinking and generally having a great time rather than paying a fortune to sleep. Traveling to San Pedro,
Belize does not need to be expensive, sometimes the discount travel option is the perfect alternative for a cheap
vacation.

Yuma's Guest House: Formerly Tina's Guest House! Located on backpacker hot spot Caye Caulker you'll find your
spot right on the beach for as little as $12US per night.

Drive the Americas: A great website loaded with information about driving North, Central & South America. It's all free
with valuable insight from the other road trippers on their forum, great articles, safety information and way more.
Seriously, check them out!

Shining Light Baptist Church: If you need your spiritual tank refilled while travelling check out the Shining Light
Baptist Church in the Georgeville area near San Ignacio. Good people and solid teaching are what you'll find there.
All seekers are welcome.

Log Cab-Inns: Located in San Ignacio this very cool place features mahogany cabins with AC and cable TV, a
SWIMMING POOL, restaurant and a full bar. They can accommodate singles, couples, families or groups. Priced
around $100US per night. I love this place.
