Recommendations While In Belize
Places to go, things to do, where to stay, where to eat etc...

Rosa's Hotel: San Ignacio's very best mid-range priced hotel. Rosa's is located right in the middle of San Ignacio
for people looking for the convenience of being right downtown. Rooms priced from $25-$35US including the only
free continental breakfast in town. Simply show up at Rosa's or give them a call at 011-501-804-2265, you will not be
disappointed!

The Parrot Nest: An excellent  choice for unique lodging just 10 minutes out of San Ignacio. The Parrot Nest is right
on the Mopan River and features treehouses, tropical gardens, free river tubing and incredible home-cooked meals.
At "The Nest" you will also find abundant wildlife and excellent company in the form of Marcus and Theo. Rooms
priced from $45.

Mountain Equestrian Trails: Located in the Cayo District of western Belize this is the premier equestrian resort in the
country. MET is surrounded by miles of trails on the property as well as being located in the foothills of the beautiful
Maya Mountains and Mountain Pine Ridge. The Beavis family, headed by world renowned adventurer Jim Beavis,
has operated this excellent resort for over 20 years and are on premise to personally attend to their guests.
Vacation prices vary with excellent package deals available year-round.

rental tents, excellent Indian food and kayak & adventure tours all over Belize.  Cabanas range from $60US a night
and camping as little as $15US a night.

Mr. Greedy's Pizzeria: Certainly the best pizza in the Cayo district and some of the best food overall in San
Ignacio. Happy hour from 3-6 features $1 rum & cokes. You will easily find Greedy's on Burns Ave in downtown San
Ignacio.

Eva's Restaurant: Unbelievably Eva's has changed their longstanding name to "Flayva's". Still located in San Ignacio
on Burns Ave, I
t's is a good source for local tourism info including bus schedules.  Stop by for some food and enjoy
the work of several local artists displayed on the walls.

Pacz Tours: Located in San Ignacio, Pacz Tours has the best guides, the best vehicles and runs the best tours in
western Belize. The company is locally owned & daily operations are handled by ex-British commando and local
legend Bob Jones, former owner of Eva's Restaurant. You simply cannot go wrong with Pacz Tours.

Belize Shuttle: Operated out of San Ignacio, William offers transportation all over Belize specializing in transfers
to and from the San Ignacio area in the comfort and safety of well maintained vehicles.  Contact the Belize Shuttle at
belizeshuttle@yahoo.com.

Misty Mountain: Located in the Mountain Pine Ridge of western Belize, Misty Mountain is probably the coolest bar in
the country. Mick The Jungle Pirate runs a tight ship with great chow and produces an incredible line of liqueurs that
are widely distributed throughout Belize. Free samples are available but WATCH OUT for the moonshine! Cabanas
are available and well priced.

Mom's Place: Just a 5 minute walk from downtown San Ignacio serves some of the very best food around. Don't
miss the fresh biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast, the chicken fried steak and the BBQ Ribs!  Now
THAT IS
GOOD FOOD, SON!!

Movies 7: Located in San Ignacio in what is locally called the "Old Mall", Movies 7 is only a 3 minute walk from
anything downtown. They show relatively new releases as well as old favorites for only a couple bucks and have the
great snack bar we need at the movies. Oh yeah, 2 words, Air Conditioning!
